Writing Black Women

Zora on My Mind asks the question – what does it mean to define the Black Woman. How do we write ourselves outside of the confines of stereotype and white imaginations. How you black women internalize outside perceptions about our potentiality? How do we find our futures when so much of who we are is circumscribed by how other see us. What does this do to our self esteem? Book writer Gonzalez explores this topic when she write about Zora and Black Women’s Expression in Medium magazine. All of the project collaborators bring different perspectives to this conundrum. A panel, sponsored by the Racial Justice Institute at Georgetown University on March 2, 2022, explored some of these ideas.
